Where Life Finds Its Voice in Words

Two elder sisters with their younger brother at Gurudwara Sahib

Who says prayers aren’t answered?
Because every time I look at you,

I know they are.

There were once two little sisters
who would go to Gurudwara Sahib
and ask Waheguru Ji for just one thing—
a little brother,
someone whose wrist we could tie a Rakhdi on,
someone we could love and call our own.

And then, we got you. ❤️

You came into our lives
and somehow made our little family feel complete.
Back then, we only knew
that we had finally got the brother
we had prayed for so many times.

Being your elder sister,
I always felt I had to look after you,
protect you, guide you,
and sometimes even care for you like a mother.

But when did that little boy grow up
and become the one protecting us?
I don’t even know.

You are the youngest in the family,
but the way you care for everyone
makes you one of our biggest strengths.

You can’t see tears in my eyes.
You will do whatever you can
just to make things a little easier for me.
And that means more to me
than I will probably ever be able to tell you.

The way you care for Mom and Dad,
the way you stand by your sisters,
the way our smallest wishes matter to you—
these are the things that make me so proud
to call you my brother.

We once prayed for a little brother
so we could tie a Rakhdi on his wrist.

Waheguru Ji gave us so much more.

He gave us a brother,
friend,
protector,
and one of the most beautiful parts of our family.

Who says prayers aren’t answered?

Ours was.

And the answer was you. ❤️🙏
